Launch of the Powerhouse 2022 Impact Report

A group of 70+ guests gathered on 2nd Feb 2023 to mark the exciting launch of Didcot Powerhouse’s first Impact Report for 2022. Donors, grant-recipients, community organisations and Powerhouse team members were hosted by Milton Park at The Bee House.

Chair, Elizabeth Paris presented the impressive impact and outcomes that projects funded by Powerhouse grants have had in the local community over the last year, highlighting the genuine difference they have made to people’s lives, particularly for children, young people and families locally. The statistics on deprivation in the local area are a sharp reminder that there is a pressing need for greater help, right on the doorstep and the cost of living crisis has undoubtedly worsened the situation for many.

Speakers included MP for Didcot and Wantage, David Johnston, Philip Campbell, Commercial Director of MEPC Milton Park Ltd (donor), David Pryor, Chair of Didcot First (also donors), Gary Hibbens, CEO of Abingdon Bridge and Richard Kennell, CEO of SOFEA.

Richard Kennell offered support to local businesses to help get young people into jobs, nurturing them as they take their first career steps. Any businesses interested in this can get in touch with SOFEA direct or via Powerhouse.

There was also a plea for more volunteers from community organisations as recruitment of volunteers is their single biggest struggle, after funding and of course, new donors to invest their CSR efforts into the Fund.
