2023 grant recipient - 3 month update

The key goal has been to develop girl only football training sessions with a view to forming a girls team. 20 girls have got involved to date and the team is scheduled to start matches from September 2023.

It is hoped that the momentum created by the Women’s World Cup, with England in the final, has given great encouragement to girls already keen on football or looking to try it as a sport.

Project Summary

Through the Powerhouse 2023 Discretionary Grant, a contribution has been made towards a project enabling the Club to provide a pathway for girls’ football. The Club has a Wildcats “girls only” soccer school and a newly formed Ladies team. The Club aims to create a new girls’ team for the 2023/24 season.
