Fitness & Fun 4 Fundraising

David Whitlock, the owner of Get Fit Be Strong runs bootcamp and personal training sessions around Didcot and came up with a great idea to mark 10 years in business this December. He wanted to stage a special event for charity that would direct funds into the local community and offer his members a unique challenge.

As the world world record holder in 2018 for the number of burpees completed in 12 hours (4696), David succeeded in raising over £3000 for local causes and wanted to repeat this feat. During November, his members were invited to participate in a 10 hour burpee and kettlleball-a-thon, with one person doing burpees and one person swinging a kettleball throughout the allocated 7am - 5pm timeframe.

More than 20 volunteers took part in the challenge and they have so far raised a phenomenal £2080, exceeding their £2000 fundraising goal. David’s fundraising page is here if you want to donate or see how much has been raised and all proceeds are going to The Didcot Powerhouse Fund.
